Salinas was founded by Tunico and Jacqueline De Biase in 1982. Their creations, which reflected the light and colorful way of life, have won the hearts of the coolest girls in Rio de Janiero and soon have conquered the whole of Brazil. The Salinas swimwear until today represents the easy-going, relaxed and uncomplicated lifestyle visible in the Rio de Janeiro everyday fashion. Salinas is present in the major fashion media in Brazil, as well as on the various national and international fashion magazines covers such as Sports Illustrated and Vogue. In 1988 Salinas opened its first store in Ipanema.
Along with the strengthening the position of the brand in the national and international market, Salinas began participating in fashion weeks, thanks to its memorable fashion shows that are now part of the Brazilian fashion main events. There are currently around 400 employees, 43 stores in the best points of Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo and the main Brazilian cities, as well as its presence in 300 multi-brands throughout the country.
Salinas exports its swimwear to more than 20 countries, among which there are: the USA, France, Japan, Russia, Germany, Portugal, Spain and Greece. The beachwear can also be found in major international networks such as Barney’s NY, Moda Operandi, Intermix, El Corte Inglés and Le Bon Marché.
